The Accomodation

Brook Cottage is a self-contained stone built village cottage dating from around the end of the 18th Century. It is attached to the larger Whitridge House but has it’s own separate entrance. The cottage has a large, comfortable, and well furnished living room with a wood burning stove, an extensive collection of books and a colour TV with VCR. The compact fully fitted kitchen includes an automatic washing machine, fridge, conventional and microwave ovens. This lovely period cottage has one double bedroom and one single bedroom, which are both comfortably appointed. Bed linen and bedding are provided. The shower room is off the single bedroom.

The Village

The village is situated in the heart of the Northumbrian countryside just off the A696 Newcastle/Edinburgh road.
It is ideally situated for exploring the Border Riever country, Kielder Water, Hadrian’s Wall and many National Trust properties including Wallington Hall the home of the Trevelyan Family where Capability Brown created the naturalistic gardens (2miles) and the extraordinary Victorian house Cragside the home of the great inventor Lord Armstrong.
Cragside was the first house in the world to have electricity (12miles). The wild and beautiful Northumberland coast is just half an hour away. There is a large collection of brochures in the cottage giving suggestions and information about the many places that can be visited from Brook Cottage.

The Rates

From £165/week (electricity and hot water included) to £250/week in the high season.
We are pleased to offer a £25.00 discount on bookings for second and additional weeks. We make a 10% reduction for Clergy of any denomination.
